After the arrival of batteries in the world of full size pickups, automakers are already targeting electric midsize trucks; However, until they officially arrive, there is already someone in Australia dedicated to their conversion.
Roev puts the batteries in your Ranger, Hilux and more

The Australian specialist is preferably dedicated to preparing Toyota Hilux and Ford Ranger, the two best-selling pickups in that marketespecially those produced between 2016 and 2022. Especially aimed at fleets that need electric vehicles, Roev plans to convert around 1,000 pickups over the next year.
The electric conversion of the Ranger and Hilux is offered in two variants, depending on battery capacity and range:
- 64 kWh for 240 km
- 96 kWh for 360 kilometers
Charging can be done with an 11kW (type 2) or fast 80kW on-board system, prices range from USD47,900 to USD57,990. The conversion is carried out by removing the motor, box and peripheral elements of the first, placing in their place an electrical unit and the battery pack.
The conversion work takes a week and 4×2 and 4×4 units are delivered. Curiously, the power (and especially the torque) of the electrical mechanics is not given anywhere, nor is it where the batteries are located, although apparently they go between the floor of the punt and the chassis.
