For the Ferrari CEO, Tesla has been vital to the industry, although his cars are “to take people from point A to point B.”

Tesla has been a major milestone in the electric car world, butWhat opinion do you have for one of the most exclusive manufacturers? and more focused, until now, on sporty combustion models?

As you can imagine, we are talking about Ferrari, a benchmark in competition and in the industry that, through its CEO, has recognized the important role of Tesla in the automobile industry, although has thrown the odd dart at the company run by Elon Musk.

According to Benedetto Vigna, head of the Italian firm, Tesla has drastically accelerated the industry and has been good for the entire market. Tesla’s great contribution to the automobile industry? It’s been a wake up call“Vigna has acknowledged in an interview for Bloomberg. “Things used to go too slowly. Tesla shook up the industry and sped up processes and decisions.”

However, for Vigna Tesla vehicles are not attractive enough. “They are functional cars that are designed to take people from point A to point B, while emitting zero carbon dioxide. You don’t care about the brand. What really matters is that it moves you. And on the other hand, there are emotional cars that give you a unique driving experience, like the Ferraris”, he added.

Regarding this, Vigna has confirmed that Ferrari is working on a 100% electric car that will arrive in 2025 and that will offer unique emotions. “We will make a unique electric Ferrari, and we will start with the experience that we want to offer our customers. We will study all the technologies to offer a unique experience and continue to be what Ferrari is today.”

First tracks of the electric Ferrari: it will be two-seater and will have one motor per wheel

It will be the first pure electric of the Italian brand, after its recent experience in hybridization, especially with the SF90 Stradale. But Vigna is confident of achieving a successful electric vehicle.

“I’m not worried, we have a clear plan. We can keep cars unique. This is the case of aerodynamics, of performance: the electric Ferrari will be unique«.
