FIAT is becoming increasingly popular in the crossover/SUV market thanks to the Pulse and Argo models, but in Europe it still has a lot of potential to be exploited in this area, something in which the Italian brand would already be working with multiple proposals.
The work would involve no less than three models, which would have the particularity of recovering vehicle names that are part of the brand’s history. What else is known about them? Will they be electric? Let’s see.

Specifically, Italian media point out that FIAT will bring from the past the names 600 and Multipla, while it will also launch the next generation of the Panda. The objective? Add them to the world of SUVs.
FIAT 600
About the return of the 600 we already spoke to you a few months ago, but the reality is that now the European colleagues have disclosed information that differs from what was reported in September. Specifically, there is still speculation that it would be a small crossover (four meters long), built on the CMP platform, the same used by the Peugeot 2008. Due to its size, FIAT would welcome recover the name of one of its most iconic models.
The differences with what was disclosed weeks ago lies in the motorization of the brand new vehicle, which in principle would not only have an electric version, but also a combustion and hybrid one:
- Electric version: same powertrain than that of the Jeep Avenger with 154 Hp
- Combustion version: I would use the 1.2 Turbo Puretech engine of 99 Hp.
- Hybrid version: the 1.2L would work together with a mild-hybrid system with 48V battery.
With a more urban design than the Avenger, the new 600 is expected to include an Abarth variant. Launch? Everything indicates that it will happen in 2023.
FIAT Multipla
The Multiple. More hated than loved, it was a misunderstood exercise in modularity.
The Multipla was born at the end of the 60s being a derivative of the 600, Like some kind of long minivan. Thirty years later, towards 1999, the name returned to the FIAT offer with a very… interesting model and in times when C-segment MPVs were in fashion (Scenic, Zafira and many more). It stopped manufacturing in 2010.
The return of the name “Multipla” to FIAT would be at the hands of a small crossover, barely larger than the new 600 (between 4.2 m and 4.3 m long), and made on a variant low cost of the CMP. To be launched in 2025, it would include only electric motorizationtaking into account that FIAT wants that by 2027 all its offer in Europe is made up only of battery-powered vehicles.
FIAT Panda fourth generation, new Uno or replacement for the Argo?
An icon of the 80s, the FIAT Panda is going through its third generation, launched in the already distant 2012. About its next generation we already told you some details, more precisely when we told you about the new FIAT Argo (which would also join the crossovers/SUVs), a model with which it would share several elements.
To be produced on the version low cost from the CMP base, the new Panda would have a length of four meters, and would present a proposal closer to the Citroën C3 Mercosur, Released just over a month ago. An interesting fact is that, according to Italian colleagues, it would be produced not only in Europe, but also in Brazil, which would facilitate its arrival in the region. In the “Old Continent”, it would be solely electric, while around here it would be presented with hybrid motorization. Launch? Possibly in 2024.
