The original Ford Ka has been around for many years, and although it didn’t quite like it at first, it turned out to be a classic, from its groundbreaking New Edge style, to its very fun dynamic performance.
The small Ford model did not have extreme sports variants, there was only the 1.6 8V that with its almost 100 official Hp and in Europe the sportier SportKa was sold. If the manufacturer doesn’t do it, someone else takes care of it, although in this case it went much further.
Ford Ka with platform and mechanics of S3
Conceived by Wayde Evans of Mohawk Customs in Cowbridge, UK, this Ka goes far beyond cosmetic changes, its chassis was changed to that of a first generation Audi S3 (PQ34).
Although at first glance it looks like a bodybuilder Ka, the work of adaptation to the new base was a lot of work since the Audi was quite a bit bigger than the Ford.
Aesthetically, the spoiler, the headlights of the European sports version (and also of the StreetKa convertible), the widened fenders (which helped fit the Ka panels in the S3) and the 18” wheels stand out.
The S3 also donated its engine, the classic 1.8 Turbo with 5 valves per cylinder (EA113) but prepared to go from the original 210 Hp to more than 430 horses. They also put the same Quattro drive and six-speed manual gearbox.
