The novelty was provided, neither more nor less, than the CEO Of the brand, jim farleywho also revealed the reasons for the creation of the vehicle.

On the occasion of the internal presentation of the balance of the brand after the first quarter of this year, Farley assured that in the market there are already too many electric SUVs with two rows of seatsand that even in the short term the supply will expand.

Therefore, the CEO pointed out that with the new model the brand can differentiate yourself from the rest and take advantage. Especially, it aims at the public that never had an SUV, and that may be attracted to the future model of the “Oval”, as happened with the F-150 Lightningand as the brand expects to happen with other electric models that it is launching.

The SUV/crossover will be developed by ford model ethe electric vehicle division of the American brand, and which currently represents an important financial deficit for the company, due to the investments that are being carried out.

“We redid all our platforms, completely changing the engineering”Farley said about some of the modifications made, such as the application of casting techniques to reduce the parts used, in order to lower the final prices of the models.

Consequently, the seven-seat electric vehicle will be “a model with half the labor but with radical simplicity”, as Farley maintained. What benefits and harms will this bring? We will have to wait for more news.
