Hamilton recognizes the superiority of Aston Martin: “They are ahead…”

The seven-time Formula 1 world champion lewis hamilton acknowledged in a statement after the race thatAston Martin had been superior to Mercedes during the Canadian Grand Prix. The English pilot promised them very happy when he snatched second position from Fernando Alonso just go out.

However, the poor traction of the Mercedes in the slow corners and the good performance of the ‘improved’ Aston Martin they didn’t allow him to get a good foothold in second place and 22 laps later, Alonso recovered his place. The British driver pushed hard in the last few laps, but it wasn’t enough to overtake Fernando Alonso who was a real rock.

Hamilton analyzed his fight with the Spaniard after the race: “We knew that this weekend was not going to be the strongest for us, we have difficulties in the slow corners and that’s where I was losing with FernandoI had no traction in the first two corners.”

Aston Martin introduced new improvements in Montreal and the Mercedes driver attested to their performance: “It has been a great weekend for us, we have worked little by little, but I think the Aston Martins were somewhat ahead in bringing those improvements. We are already working on ours, but we have the consistency and to be on the podium in Montreal is something great.”

Finally, Hamilton made a self-criticism about the mechanical aspects to improve in his car: “You have to add rear-end cargo and a bit more efficiency, but we’re working on it and I think we’ll get to that point. Max was too far away today, but the paces were more similar, so we’re going in the right direction.”
