Hyundai has been traveling various paths towards more sustainable mobility for a long time. And it is that the entire group is focusing on reducing its emissions and reaching carbon neutrality as soon as possible, proof of this is the fleet of models delivered to the organization of the Qatar World Cup to transport the teams and various authorities.
And while electricity is one of the best-known alternatives, the Korean firm is making news again for its fleet of XCIENT Fuel Cell hydrogen heavy trucks, which travel European roads as part of various logistics and transportation companies.

This same fleet of 47 trucks now marks a milestone, accumulating five million kilometers traveled within two years, establishing the brand’s leadership in the use of hydrogen in this segment.

Building on this proven track record of successful operation in Switzerland, we will expand this business throughout Europe.”
The XCIENT Fuel Cell is equipped with a 180 kW hydrogen fuel cell system with two 90 kW fuel cell stacks, a system that offers efficiency and convenience similar to that of a combustion model, but without emissions, adapting in a good way to the needs of commercial fleets.
This model features a 350 kW electric motor with a maximum torque of 1,650 Lb-ft and seven large hydrogen tanks that offer a combined storage capacity of around 31 kg of fuel, while a set of three 72 kWh batteries supports performance. The autonomy range is more than 400 km per charge in real conditions, and according to figures provided by the brand, charging a hydrogen tank takes between 8 and 20 minutes depending on the ambient temperature.
