Lando Norris has as his number one goal to win a race in the Formula 1. Since his arrival on the grid in 2019, the pilot of McLaren He has not been able to climb to the top of the podium. And in order to achieve it, he has asked Woking to make “a Ferrari”.
In statements collected by ‘Motorsport’, the Briton praised the work of the Scuderia in fighting for victories after a couple of bad seasons: “I think they did pretty good. To go from where they were in 2021, when we almost beat them, to where they are now, taking wins and fighting for podiums every weekend… That’s what we have to aspire to, make that big leap from one season to another.“.
The example of Ferrari has helped Norris to ask McLaren for a leap in quality to compete with the best teams: “The fact is that we have to do a better job. For next year we have to progress and I have faith that we can do it. It’s just the last hurdle to catch up with Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari.”
In this way, the Briton would be on a par with two of his best friends on the grid, Carlos Sainz and George Russella position that he believes he deserves to be: “I would like to be on a par with them, in that battle. I feel that I deserve it and that I can be, but it’s not the position I’m in right now. I can compete against them in the future and do the same thing they are doing.”
