Mercedes-Benz decided to give an update to the most important SUV in its range, the GLS, also reaching the sports version Mercedes-AMG GLS 63 and the luxury version Mercedes-Maybach GLS.

The lower part of the bumper has also been redesigned a bit while at the rear, the only thing that changes are the lights. In the body, what we actually have is the availability of two new colors: Twilight Blue and Alpine Gray. Of course, the AMG and Maybach versions receive various accessories and distinctive elements, such as wheels and specific paints.
Indoors, the 2024 GLS gets new leather and wood upholstery options, including the flowing lines of MANUFAKTUR piano lacquer that you could previously only get on Maybach’s version of the GLS. Besides, receives a somewhat controversial new steering wheel, since it only has touch buttonsof which there have already been complaints when they were implemented by other brands such as Volkswagen. Do they cause accidental keystrokes? Maybe. Does the steering wheel look nice? That’s for sure.
Moving on to the mechanical part, Mercedes-Benz focuses on the fact that it has made a software update to its air suspension, who has the job of carrying no less than approximately 2,800 kg of vehicle. This active sway suspension AMG ACTIVE RIDE CONTROL works with two electromechanical actuators on the front and rear axle. The system reduces body roll when cornering and allows more precise tuning of load shift behavior and cornering precision. Also, according to Mercedes, driving comfort is increased when driving in a straight line, since only one-sided road imperfections are balanced out.
Mechanically, the GLS 63’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 is still from the game, with its 612 HP and 627 pound-feet of torque with hybrid assistance. This version allows to do the 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and reach a maximum speed limited to 280 km/h.
The version signed by Maybach leaves the GLS very exclusive.
