LAfter anticipating it during the summer campaign, Hyundai made official the launch of the second generation of the Creta, which presents a total evolution with respect to its predecessor, both in design and at a technological and equipment level, although it will not completely replace it since both will coexist complementing each other.
The new Creta will target the high end of the B-SUV segment, with a wide range of comfort and safety and a considerable increase in its dimensions, which brought with it greater habitability.

It is the second generation of the B-SUV that finally arrived in our country with the peculiarity that, as in Brazil -where it is manufactured-, it will coexist with the previous generation, complementing its portfolio. That is why, at least in this first stage, it will only be marketed in a single version at the top of the range.
Presented globally in China and then in India in 2020, the most particular feature of this new Creta lies in the front, which adopted the new design language of the Korean brand, but with a somewhat controversial result due to its striking and groundbreaking nature: it the huge hexagonal format grille stands out along with the inverted C-shaped headlights – a detail that still stands out due to the signature of the LED daytime running lights – and which in turn are divided into two, with the main ones located below. It sought to replicate the style that began with the Kona, but adapted the squarer design of the Creta, completely breaking with the sobriety that characterized it.
Produced since last year in Brazil, there it incorporated an aesthetic update that improved its image: the main modification occurs in the front sector, with a new chrome grille and the air intake now relocated in the lower part of it.
In profile, although its silhouette is quite similar, as well as the design of the windows, it is much more muscular due to the bulging wheel arches and a line that runs along the entire side. In addition, it has an appliqué on the part of the roof painted in another color, contrasting with the bodywork.
The rear part also repeats the formula of the front sector, with large headlights divided into two. The incorporation of more marked strokes and a more striking and three-dimensional treatment of the volumes or of the bodywork panels stands out. This sector is finished off with a more prominent roof spoiler and the bumper with a black appliqué – also present throughout the lower sector – and another in aluminum, simulating a defense.
Another important leap occurs inside, not only aesthetically but also in terms of equipment. With the focus on connectivity, the BlueMedia multimedia system with a 10.25” touch screen stands out, the electric sunroof and the new steering wheel design, with four spokes and identical to that of the latest releases from the Korean firm.

Initially, this new generation of Creta will be offered in a single version (Safety+).

Mechanics:
The new generation of the B-SUV is offered for the moment only with a 1.5 Smarstream gasoline engine, four cylinders in line, double overhead camshafts and double variable distribution D-CVVT, which develops 115 CV at 6,300 rpm and 14 .7 kgm of torque at 4,500 rpm. It is mated to a simulated 8-speed CVT automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
