New Renault Duster would be on the way, but it will take time

For a few years, we have known that Renault is carrying out a plan in South America that consists of the production of new modelsproduct of an investment of 200 million dollars in the plant that it owns in São José dos Pinhais, Brazil.

Although it has not yet been made official, everything seems to indicate that the adaptation of the production lines of the Brazilian factory to the CMF-B platform will serve to manufacture, among other vehicles, the new generation of Duster. Last March, we learned that the brand new Duster was already being tested in Europe. Now, the news points to what would be his arrival in this part of the world.

New Renault Duster: What is known

The new Duster will be characterized by being made on the CMF-B base, thus leaving the B0+, in what will be its first generational replacement. Among others, the novelty will allow it to be wider (between 18 and 38 mm), and to better pass noise, vibration and hardness tests (called NVH), as Renault executives argued some time ago.

In terms of design, the new Renault Duster would recover much of what was seen in the Bigster concept, as could be seen in the tests at the beginning of the year, with its robust front, flat hood, and headlights and grill joined in a large horizontal bar, among other details. Plastic moldings on the entire side and on the fascias, roof bars and rear part with optics in the form of a “Y” lying down, would be other features of the new Duster recovered from the Bigster.

In motor matters, it is expected that the second generation of the SUV will maintain the 1.3L Turbo engine, whose power in our country was recently increased to 163 Hp. That’s not all, since could add the 1.0L Turbo that Renault is developing in Brazil, engine that in the new Duster would star in a hybrid version, thanks to its work together with an electric drive located on the rear axle.

New Renault Duster: Release date

According to Brazilian colleagues, the new Renault Duster will be launched globally in 2024, while it will arrive in South America in 2025after the presentation in the region of the successor to the Stepway (2024), a model that will mark the debut of the CMF-B platform in this part of the world.
