With a presence of more than 60 years in Mexico, Nissan Mexicana celebrated 15 million units produced in the A1, A2, and CIVAC complexes of Aguascalientes, Morelos. Complexes that have been fundamental in the growth and development of the brand in the country and the region.
The Nissan Kicks crossover was the 15 millionth unit to leave the production line at the Aguascalientes plant 1. It should be noted that vehicles manufactured in Mexico are exported to more than 80 countries such as Canada, the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Chile and Saudi Arabia, among others.
“The production of 15 million units in Mexico is a historic achievement that demonstrates the quality, commitment and vision of Nissan in Mexico. This milestone would not have been possible without the effort and dedication of our collaborators, suppliers and strategic partners”said José Román, president and general director of Nissan Mexicana, Nissan Importers Business Unit and INFINITI.
Nissan’s A1 plant in Aguascalientes, which began operations in 1992, is one of the main sources of vehicle production for the brand. Since its inauguration, it has produced more than 7 million units.
On the other hand, the A2 plant, also located in Aguascalientes, since its opening in 2013, has produced more than 4 million units.
Finally, the CIVAC complex, located in Cuernavaca, is Nissan’s oldest in the country, as well as being the company’s first outside of Japan. Since its inauguration in 1966, it has produced around 3 million units.
