The President’s Decision on the Determination of the Official Notice Price Schedule was published in the Official Gazette.
The President’s Decree on the adoption of the official announcement price tariff proposed by the General Assembly of the Press Advertisement Institution was published in the Official Gazette dated December 4, 2020 and numbered 31324. The tariff in question will come into effect as of January 1, 2021.
According to the new official announcement price tariff approved by the President, the daily actual sale of one centimeter of official advertisements in a single column will be charged as 20,40 Turkish Liras, excluding VAT, for newspapers below 50 thousand. The said official announcement price will be calculated from 49.35 Turkish Liras excluding VAT for newspapers with an actual daily sales average of not less than 50 thousand.
According to the decision, it will be mandatory to use “Arial” font in the typesetting of advertisement texts and 9 pt for the newspapers with a daily actual sales average of not less than 50 thousand, and 10 pt for other newspapers. In the 5 centimeter part of the official announcements, there should be at least 12 lines for the use of 10 point text letters and at least 14 lines for the use of 9 point letters.
The headings of the official announcements shall be proportional to the text of the advertisement, however, the titles of the official announcements over 200 columns-centimeters including the title text shall be in 24 pt. cannot exceed 14 points.
In addition, a single column width will be 32 millimeters for newspapers with an actual daily sales average of not less than 50 thousand, and 37 millimeters for other newspapers. On the other hand, in official advertisements exceeding one column, the gaps between the columns will continue to be calculated over 3 millimeters. Between the title and the text of the advertisement will be 3 millimeters, the thickness of the advertisement frame will be 0.5 millimeters, and the gaps between the text and the frame will be 3 millimeters. A character space will be left between words.
For advertisements in larger font letters or in narrower columns, and for advertisements with excessive space between lines and words, computation will be continued within the framework of these explanations.
Thus, in the official announcement price tariff for 2021, an increase of 20 percent for newspapers with an actual daily sales average of less than 50 thousand and 5 percent for other newspapers was achieved.
The new update to the Official Notice Price Schedule will help local newspapers, which form the capillaries of the press, to maintain their publishing lives.
