‘Outer Banks’ star Chase Stokes reveals he screwed up casting for a role in ‘Stranger Things’

Chase Stokes has attended an event with fans of ‘Outer Banks’ on the occasion of the premiere of the third season on Netflix, and has revealed in an interview with Access Hollywood that could have been a star ‘Stranger Things’ if I hadn’t messed up the test: “I forgot all the lines and completely screwed up. I drove eight hours from Atlanta back to Orlando regretting every moment,” he explained.

“I wish I could have said at least two words,” he said before adding that the choice of Joe Keery for the role of Steve was a success of the Duffer brothers. The character has ended up becoming one of the series’ public favorites.

In fact, Stokes assures that he has been able to speak with Keery over the years and has praised the work he does. Finally, thanked the creators, Marr and Ross Duffer, who despite his ordeal decided to give him a small role without a sentence in episode six of the first season. Although he wasn’t much of a character, he did give her the “chance to start” his career.

The producers of ‘Stranger Things’ were the same as those of ‘Outer Banks’ and they chose Stokes for one of the leads. “It is the moment that closes the circle”, has affirmed the actor. The series is in its third season that has just arrived on Netflix and before the premiere it was already confirmed for a fourth.
