Porsche will auction the exclusive 911 Carrera Panamericana Special in Mexico

What’s going on?

A few months ago we told you about the unveiling in Mexico of this emblematic 911which recreates the car that gave Porsche the first victory in international sports motorsports and I am referring to the Porsche 356 Cabriolet marked with the number 11 and which won in the Menor Sport Category of the III Pan-American Race held in Mexico in 1952.

As a result of that notorious triumph, Porsche decided to add the last name CARRERA to all its models that had something special, and as a great reminder of that first link of triumphs in a kilometer-long chain of successes that the German manufacturer has had in the sports field, be it on track or on roads.

Commemorating important dates for Porsche

Within the framework of the 75 years of Porsche sports cars and the 60th birthday of the legendary 911, Porsche de México will auction the 911 Carrera Panamericana Special, a unique car in the world, which, as we already told you, pays homage to the first Porsche that crossed the finish line of the traditional endurance race in 1952, a Porsche 356 S Cabriolet lettered with the number 11.

It is prudent to comment that the net profit raised in the auction will be used to contribute to many Mexican families through different social programs of charitable institutions and Porsche México will subsequently communicate the names of said institutions.

More details of the 911 Carerra Panamericana Special

The customization work on the Porsche 911 Carrera Panamericana Special was carried out by Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur, with the intention of developing a unique and unrepeatable car. The car is based on a 2022 model 992 rear-wheel drive 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. The two most striking details on its exterior are the Graffiti Gray roof canvas and the white engine grill.

Outside we find 20-inch front and 21-inch rear Turbo design wheels, whose inner drums and spokes are hand-painted in metallic Gentian Blue, while the center hubs are gray. The brake calipers are enameled black. In the upper part of the windshield, we find a decal with a black background with the PORSCHE name in white, which evokes the one used by the Prince of Metternich and Baron Teffé on the trunk lid of his car. On the upper part of the doors there are also decals with the shield of La Carrera Panamericana, reminiscent of those of the National Automobile Association (ANA) that the 356 S Cabriolet had.

The gray-toned cabin is redefined by a series of details, including the inscription ‘911 Carrera S La Carrera Panamericana 1952’ and the outline of the historic helmet of The Pan-American Race embroidered in Graphite Blue in the headrests. Meanwhile, its adaptable Plus sports seats boast leather upholstery in Crayon Gray. In addition, there are LED light projectors on the doors with the iconic design of the La Carrera Panamericana license plate, as well as illuminated door sills with the individualized inscription ‘911 Carrera S La Carrera Panamericana 1952’.
