All brands point to total electrification and the truth is that Suzuki is not badly positioned at all. It currently has a very prominent hybrid range and it was only a matter of time before they started talking about its first 100% electric production model. The truth is that the Japanese brand had already experimented with this technology on multiple occasions, but it is now when they are ready to go on the market. The first preview is put by the Suzuki eVX Concept which has been presented at the Auto Expo 2023.
Not much information has been given about this prototype, which is a preview of the Electric SUV that will arrive in 2025. This confirms the marketing of a model that will be fully involved in the compact crossover segment due to the dimensions that have been announced. The eVX Concept has a 4,300mm length, a width of 1,800 mm and a height of 1,600 mm; figures that are almost traced to those of his current Suzuki S-Cross. However, it differs in everything else, as can be seen with the naked eye.
Although it is a prototype, we can already start talking about a new design language that could be applied to the brand’s electric futures. It begins with a very muscular front end with marked lines. The height that it has is striking and also the absence of a grill, due to the lower refrigeration needs that an electric one requires. In its place, there is a black horizontal strip in which are integrated some arrow shaped headlights. The logo of the brand goes right in the center and the lower part is reserved for a silver defense.
Despite being an electric, the Suzuki eVX Concept oozes SUV character also thanks to the black plastics that cover the bottom of your bodywork. That it is a prototype is clear to us due to its enormous semi-faired rims or to the fact that it has cameras instead of rearview mirrors conventional. The rear also draws attention for its roof spoiler, for the LED lights joined in the center or for the protector in the lower part.
The brand claims that will maintain the 4×4 DNA that has always characterized them. That makes us think of a propulsion system consisting of two electric motors, one on each axis, to achieve all-wheel drive. However, no technical details have yet been given. The only thing that has been said is that this Suzuki eVX Concept has a 60 kWh capacity battery and that it achieves a electric autonomy of 550 kilometers. Of course, in India’s own MIDC cycle, in the European WLTP it would be somewhat less.
