Mick Schumacher he lost his seat at Haas and failed to win a first-driver contract despite many rumors going around. There was talk, above all, of Alpine to accompany Esteban Ocon. And the Frenchman repeated on several occasions that he was his favorite option.

But it did not materialize and Mick was left without a seat. He eventually signed with Mercedes as a reserve driver behind Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. A new project that he hopes will serve as a springboard to become the starting driver on the grid again.

This was stated in statements to ‘GPFans’, where he ruled out competing in other categories: “I’m sure that I will not drive in another category other than Formula 1 at the moment”.

“I will be present at each race as a reserve and I will walk around the paddock, trying to be positioned as best as possible to be back on the grid in 2024″, says the son of Michael Schumacher.

“If you taste the best that there is in the world of motorsport, you will not settle for anything else. Therefore, it is clear that I will continue in the paddock next year. I am not interested in racing in another category at the moment”, has sentenced.

At 23 years old, the young Schumacher has driven two seasons in F1. Both with Haas. In the first one, he was sentenced to the last two places due to his very slow car. The second, with a more competitive car, could not overcome his teammate, Kevin Magnussen.
