It is rumored that WhatsApp will be fined 50 million Euros, which is stated by the European Union (EU) as violating data protection rules.

The allegation was made on Politico's website. In an article published on the same site, it was said that the data protection company was examined at WhatsApp's headquarters in Europe. In the examinations, it was stated that mistakes were made regarding the sharing of personal data of the instant messaging application with social media Facebook, data sharing was initiated without sufficient notification of the users and the application in question was not in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). According to the report, it was stated that WhatsApp could impose fines between 30 and 50 million Euros for violations of EU personal data rules. The huge fine to be applied will be announced in 2021.
