The allegation was made on Politico's website. In an article published on the same site, it was said that the data protection company was examined at WhatsApp's headquarters in Europe. In the examinations, it was stated that mistakes were made regarding the sharing of personal data of the instant messaging application with social media Facebook, data sharing was initiated without sufficient notification of the users and the application in question was not in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
