So are the renewed Peugeot 508 and 508 SW 2024

The Peugeot 508 is one of the models that resists the SUV onslaught around the world, and although it does not have a large sales volume, It has been a good example of the spirit of the “500 line” within the brandwhich began its history back in 1968 with the emblematic Peugeot 504.

The current 508 was launched in 2018 and it was time for a refresh. That is why we have today the presentation of the update of this model, both for its sedan version and for the family or SW version.

The refreshed 2024 Peugeot 508 is distinguished by its narrower Matrix LED headlights and the three DRL claw marks under each headlampinstead of the single tusk that the model it replaces had.

On the other hand, the lower grille has a curvier shape and now turns downward instead of upward at the ends, taking away from the vehicle’s smiley face. However, the biggest change is reserved for the grille, which flows into the bumper and features the latest Peugeot badging. At the rear the changes are more subtle, now instead of the Leon we have the letters ‘Peugeot’ in the middle of the LED optics.

Inside doors the aesthetic changes are subtle, we can see a new gear stick and an updated steering wheel, which also adopts the new Peugeot emblem. On the side of the multimedia system, we have a software update that allows wireless updates, has enhanced voice recognition software, and is customizable through widgets and scrollable windows.

Under the hood, in the renewed 508 we have several options, but without major news. The range starts with the 128 HP 1.2L gasoline in base versionsthen the 1.5 L turbodiesel with also 128 HP and then goes to familiar plug-in hybrid versionswhich take the aforementioned 1.2L engine and add electric drives to reach powers of 178 HP or 222 HP depending on the version.

There will also be a four-wheel drive option with the Peugeot 508 PSE, the top of the range of this model, which combines a 197 HP combustion engine with electric motors to achieve a total power of 355 HP.. This PSE version with all-wheel drive comes standard with a 7.4 kW fast charger on board that can fill the battery in 100 minutes, an element that in other hybrids will have to be set aside.

Peugeot has yet to make official pricing for the refreshed 508 in Europe, but perhaps you can expect a small increase over the value of the current model, which starts in $45,800 for the base version and goes up to $76,500 for the 508 PSE SWthe most expensive version.
