Tesla Semi arrives in the United States, the first deliveries have already begun

In fact, one of those brave customers is Pepsico, while Wall Mart and Fedex could follow in their footsteps; we look forward to seeing more rolling all over the US as Musk himself stated: “Tesla Semi has the potential to travel around the world”. Let’s remember that the development of this “tract” took five years, during which Tesla worked with different companies to convince them of its profitability.

The Tesla Semi, like almost all of the firm’s models, stands out for its peculiar design that obviously benefits aerodynamics. But in the case of a heavy vehicle, a lot of attention has to be paid to its real scope in terms of autonomy, above all. In this regard, El Semi boasts -at least on paper- interesting data, especially for being a heavy-duty electric vehicle:

  • 0-100 km/h: 20 seconds
  • Autonomy: 800 kilometers

To this last data, Musk added that in recent tests conducted in California, the Tesla Semi drove 500 miles from Fremont to San Diego, finishing with 4% charge. at the end of the test. However, these data will be revealed and verified by the operators who live with the tract, because in the end, the figures for consumption, performance, etc. of each journey depend on many variables.

And since Musk thinks of everything, Parallel to the arrival of the Tesla Semi, a fast charger with a capacity of 1 MW of power was also presented. This component generates and transfers so much energy that it requires liquid cooling for the Semi to recharge up to 70% of its capacity in only 30 minutes, approximately what it takes to eat a snack and stretch your legs when traveling.

In terms of savings, Tesla says the Semi could generate up to $200,000 in diesel savings in the first three years alone.
