Max Verstappen is already a two-time world champion. The Dutchman has been or rather is being tremendously superior, having already in his hand the record for victories in the same Formula 1 season. Such is his level with Red Bull that one of the most legendary surnames in this sport has praised him like no one had done before.
It is Mathias Lauda, son of Niki Lauda, who spoke at the presentation of a film in London about the level of the pilot of the energy drink team.
“A talent like yours appears one every hundred years. I don’t see not a single weak spot in it,” said a Lauda who continues to praise Verstappen.
“He handles pressure better than anyone. He’s always calm. Sometimes he made mistakes or was very aggressive at the beginning of the race, but in this 2022 his change has been enormous”, he affirms.
But he warns him: “You can never underestimate lewis hamilton when the car is good. With the same car it will be difficult to beat.
“This year, Mercedes has slipped behind Red Bull and also Ferrari. That is why the World Cup not as exciting as 2021,” Lauda sentence in words collected by ‘Racing News 365’.
Max Verstappen proclaimed himself world champion at the Japanese GP, after a season in which he started off weak with a couple of retirements but in which he has taken flight.
He has done it with a Red Bull that has exhibited a stratospheric level on all kinds of tracks, and also because while they grew up at Ferrari they went backwards.
