The DGT will notify the fines to legal persons and companies as of November 1: through the Electronic Road Address.
Important update from the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) that affects drivers, especially those who suspect they have been sanctioned. As of November 1, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) going to change the system by which it notifies offenders traffic penalties.
As of that date, they will stop being sent through ordinary mail and only the fines will be known. through the Road Electronic Address (DEV). However, this new notification system will apply for now only legal persons and companieswho will receive notification of fines exclusively electronically in the Traffic mailbox.

Individuals will not be affected by the modification, although may use the DEV voluntarily. The Road Electronic Address, which is accessed through the virtual headquarters of the DGT, has the function of an online Traffic mailbox and from there Traffic communications and notifications are managed with the same legal effects as paper letters.
Anyone can register with the DEV using a valid digital certificate and offering an email address and a mobile phone. If this management is not carried out, an electronic road address will be assigned where the notifications will arrive.
In this way, private drivers who commit an infraction against road safety or fail to comply with any rule of the General Traffic Regulations will continue to receive the communication of the same through a certified letter at your home.
10 new traffic fines that can be issued from today
Remember that from November 1 some sanctions will also be toughened, such as using unauthorized intercom devices in exams to obtain or retrieve a driver’s license; throwing objects onto the road that could cause fires or accidents; and failing to comply with the rules on assistance on public roads and on the use of anti-start breathalyzers. All of them will be fined 500 euros.
With 200 euros, stopping or parking in lanes or cycle paths will be sanctioned; carry radar detection mechanisms in the vehicle or cinemometers and driving with the license suspended as a precautionary measure.
