From the moment you start to get your driver’s license, you are instilled with a premise that is remembered over the years: in the event of an accident or breakdown, you must put your emergency triangles. Present in all the cars that populate our roads, this element serves to reinforce safety by alerting other drivers that something has happened and that they will find it imminently. Now it turns out that the triangles are no longer mandatory on some occasions and we are going to explain it precisely.
The exception that is established is applicable highways and highways only, in the rest of the situations it is necessary to continue using the emergency triangles. This is due to the fact that these fast roads are the ones that have increased risk of being run over when the person leaves the vehicle and is about to place these beacons in order to be seen from afar. Given the increasing number of accidents in these conditions, the DGT has decided that it is better for the person to stay in the damaged or damaged car until the authorities appear.
