About 730,000 euros are requested for the first Lamborghini Countach LP500S that left the factory and belonged to a “heavy” star.

The Lamborghini Countach is undoubtedly one of the most influential and revolutionary cars in all of history. An automotive icon of which three major variants were produced: the original LP400 was manufactured in 1974, followed by the LP400S in 1978 and the LP500S in 1982. Of this third generation, the LP500S, only 321 units were manufactured.

Now the first one the first to leave the factory in Sant’Agata Bolognese (Italy), it can be yours because it has been put up for sale. This is a 1982 example, one of five to sport the ‘5L’ badge on the tail, which was displayed on the Lamborghini stand at the 1982 Geneva Motor Show and features many features of early production models. They were not included in later issues.

Following its debut at the show, this unit was first purchased in Italy, before being shipped to Germany and finally to the United States, where it would end up. under the tutelage of guitarist Carlos Cavazo of the heavy metal band “Quiet Riot”who would keep the ’82 Countach for 35 years

The Lamborghini LP500S, designed by Giulio Alfieri, featured the same mid-mounted DOHC engine as the LP400S, albeit with increased displacement to 4.8-litres, lower compression and double-wishbone Weber carburettors. larger, changes that together allowed the V12 developing 375 hp at 7,500 rpm and, with it, accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds and reach a top speed of more than 290 km/h.

Updates to the LP500S version also included a new bodywork with a novel front spoilernew widened fenders and a redesigned rear.

As we say, it is now offered as a private sale through Gooding & Company, priced at $785,000 (about 730,000 euros).
