It was one of the great moments of the press conference prior to the Austrian Grand Prix: to Carlos Sainz asked him the question of when there will be two Spanish pilots on a podium in Formula 1… and the one of Ferrari could not be more sincere.
“Fernando gets on the podium every week so it’s my fault (laughs)”, said the man from Madrid, who so far this season has not been able to get on the box.
“I hope that sooner rather than later I can join one of those podiums and we celebrate together, that it would be a good thing for Spain and for us,” he added.
With the tremendous evolution it has given Aston Martin Since the end of last season, Alonso and Sainz are now in a position to fight face to face on the track, although that does not tarnish their relationship.
“We have always been good friends and we have had a lot of respect for each other“added Carlos to finish.
and Fernando jumped
Once the ’55’ finished his speech, the Asturian did not hesitate to answer the initial question with a certain ‘joking’.
A double Spanish podium? Alonso is clear about what should happen: “Two Red Bull out… and we could get it sooner”.
