The king regains the throne of 0-400 km/h

Just over a month ago, the Rimac Nevera broke the 0-400-0 km/h record with a time of 29.93 seconds. The milestone has not lasted long since the Koenigsegg Regera himself broke this record and his own record at the end of 2019 of 36.44 seconds. The king regains the throne.

Record after record, revenge after revenge, the Koenigsegg hybrid hypercar easily lowers the 29.93 seconds of the Rimac and its previous record, reaching 28.81 seconds. Of course, with a couple of aces up his sleeve: the tires and the terrain factor.

According to Koenigsegg, the milestone has been possible thanks to the new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres. Semi-slick tires designed for the extreme performance of a competition test but adapted and approved for the road. To give you an idea of the importance of these tires, they are the tires that Porsche, Mercedes-AMG, Chevrolet Corvette and Ferrari equip. Fine thing. Doing a quick search on the internet we see that its price ranges between 1,100-1,200 per unit, in case you have the whim, we leave it there.

These are the figures that have been harvested in the test.

  • 0-400-0 km/h: 28.81 seconds.
  • 0-400 km/h: 20.68 seconds.
  • 400-0 km/h: 8.13 seconds.

The Regera story

Presented in 2015 at the Geneva Motor Show, it has a total combined power of 1,510 hp and 2,000 Nm of torque, with a weight of 1,420 it is obvious that it flies. Beyond the figures, the key to this vehicle is the 5.0 V8 Biturbo engine and its transmission direct drive, no gearbox.

The KDD, as they call it in the firm, allows you to play with the optimal speeds of the four (yes, four) engines that the car mounts, concatenating a juicy and meticulous electronic management that come together in perfect engineering harmony. Thus, told with great grandiloquence. And if you want us to go deeper, leave it to us in the comments;).

The final production of this car started in 2018 and in 2022 all ordered cars were delivered, obviously, sold out. We leave you the official video of the test where you can see every time beaten and a pilot who seems to be enjoying himself like a little boy.
