Models like the koenigsegg gemera they are hard to forget. It surprised everyone when in 2020, the small Swedish manufacturer presented its first four-seater model. Despite his family vocation, he did not renounce the sporty character that Koenigseggs have always had. In fact, it announced up to 1,700 hp thanks to its innovative plug-in hybrid propulsion system. Although time has passed and now a even more powerful option with the V8 engine as protagonist.
Everything indicates that the Gemera can also be configured with the system used by the Koenigsegg Jesko. That translates into a combustion engine 5.0-liter twin-turbo V8 as the main engine that alone is capable of generating 1,600 hp and 1,500 Nm of torque when running on E85 ethanol (it stays at 1,280 hp when refueling with gasoline). In any case, in this copy it would be linked to the nine-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST) since a hybrid system which is not in the Jesko.
That would make the Gemera could reach the 2,300 hp and 2,750 Nm of torque, leaving behind the 1,700 hp offered by the version with the 2.0-liter three-cylinder Freevalve engine and the three electric motors. It could improve the original features, which left numbers as impressive as the acceleration of 0 to 100 km/h in 1.9 seconds or a top speed of 400 km/h. Of course, all for a price of $400,000 higher than the access version. In any case, we would still have to wait for an official confirmation from the brand, which has not ruled on the matter.
However, it seems very reliable information considering that there has been talk of other details that have come out with a view to its arrival in production. It has been confirmed that it will not come with conventional rear-view mirrors and not the cameras that were initially shown, to comply with the regulations of some countries. There is also mention of a Ghost Pack that adds aerodynamic elements such as a front splitter, an S-Duct air intake (which cancels the front trunk) or a rear wing. In any case, more information will arrive in the face of 2025, which is when the first deliveries to customers are expected to be made.
