The Koenigsegg Regera regains the 0-400-0 km/h record, which measures the acceleration speed and braking capacity of sports cars.

Every second counts in our lives and more in the world of high-performance cars. In fact, the most exclusive brands with sports overtones They constantly strive to beat the rest against the clock.

On this occasion, it is a very special record: it is measured the time it takes a car to accelerate from 0 to 400 km/h and the time it takes to brake is added to it until it is completely stopped.

28.81 s to accelerate to 400 km/h and then stop completely

The Koenigsegg Regera, the plug-in hybrid sports car, held the record for this modality of 0-400-0 km/h with a time of 31.49 seconds before the all-electric Rimac Refrigerator usurped time by achieving the same feat in 29.93 seconds in early 2023.

A few days ago, however, the Regera, which is no longer produced, has exacted its revenge and has just reduced the acceleration time to 400 km/h and subsequent braking to 0 km/h in just 28.81 seconds.

Apparently the Regera he has managed to drop almost 3 seconds on his previous time without undergoing modifications in the aerodynamics or in the engine. There have been two big differences, the mounting of a new set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires and, above all, the place where the record was achieved: a runway at the Orebero airport, in Stockholm (Sweden), which offered a pavement much smoother.

“This particular record means a lot to Koenigsegg,” Christian von Koenigsegg, founder and CEO of Koenigsegg, explained in a statement, “since is a record covering all aspects of extreme performance«.

“The fact that the Regera continues to amaze and amaze the automotive world after all this time is a testament not only to its timeless design, but also to its engineering and technology ahead of the times“concludes Koenigsegg.

And it is that the Regera is not the most modern car from Koenigsegg, which already markets the Jesko, an evolution of the 1,600 CV Regera, and which will soon launch the 1,677 CV Gemera. It must be remembered that the Regera was presented in 2015, with a 5.0-liter V8 and three axial-flux electric motors together produce 1,500 hp in its basic configuration.
