The current Toyota Tacoma He is living his last days, since his generational change is just around the corner. Something that was more than fair and necessary, considering that the mid-size pickup dating from 2015 has already lagged a bit behind the competition.
In fact, our colleagues at Motor1 had access to these homologation images, which practically expose this pickup completely. Among the highlights we have the design inspired by the Toyota Electric Truck Conceptwhich in turn refers us to the Tundra.

The main change is that the closed grid of the conceptual disappears and is replaced by a hexagonal one with a mesh pattern. The headlights have LED technology and are distinguished by the horizontal air inlets. The fog lamps are rectangular, and, in fact, this geometric shape is adopted by the fenders. The objective is to achieve an imposing and robust image. At the rear, it sports a tailgate, which is where we find the closest resemblance to the Tundra.
Although final technical details have not been released, we know the new 2024 Tacoma will adopt the TNGA-F modular platform allowing it to adopt electrified powertrains.

Thus, it could be offered with a 2.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that develops around 265 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque. There have also been rumors about a hybrid variant, which would be a first in its segment.
The 2024 Tacoma is expected to debut later this year and among its most frontal rivals will be the Chevrolet Colorado, GMC Canyon, Ford Ranger and Nissan Frontier V6 PRO-4X. The interesting thing would be to know if its production will still be carried out in the Tijuana and Guanajuato plants (in addition to Texas), as is currently the case.
