Aston Martin, Ferrari and McLaren. Those are the only three teams that currently comply with “the ethical code” of Formula 1. An investigation carried out by ‘Standard Ethics’, which highlights the role of the teams of Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz.
Jacopo Schettiniresearch director of the aforementioned company, has analyzed it: “It is very, very important to see a long-term commitment to sustainability. A long-term commitment comes from important and crucial documents, such as a code of ethics or a plan of sustainability or policies on specific topics”.
“There were three teams with a code of ethics: McLaren, Aston Martin and Ferrari. They were talking about all the major sustainability issuesbut I would like to see more of the other teams”, he details.
And he talks about transparency: “It is very important, the first part of sustainability is to be transparent, to inform people about what is being done in this regard. You should post everything.”
“Sustainability needs transparency. Transparency and long-term vision, give us a long-term vision. What are you thinking about sustainability and keep us informed about your goals”, says Schettini.
Environmental, social and government issues. Those are the areas where F1 teams are being asked to step up in terms of their commitment and transparency.
