A Koenigsegg CCGT GT1 Competition Coupe up for auction could be sold at auction for a price close to 5 million euros.
Any Koenigsegg model is exotic enough to be called “extremely rare,” but this unit from the Koenigsegg CCGT GT1 Competition Coupe could take the cake. It will go up for auction in mid-July during the Goodwood Festival of Speed (United Kingdom) with a price that could be around 5 million euros.
The astronomical price of the Swedish model is directly proportional to its rarity and that is that this CCGT is the only copy that has been manufactured. The car was created to participate in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, but was disqualified due to rule changes that no longer allowed the carbon monocoque construction that the CCGT employed. The car only completed a few tests before giving up the attempt and Koenigsegg itself was disqualified for not meeting the annual production quota in order to compete.

The Koenigsegg CCGT weigh less than 1,000 kilograms thanks to its construction, mainly in carbon fiber, and is powered by a 5-liter V8 engine and 600 HP of power. It does not seem like a lot of power, but if it is combined with such a low weight, it promises more than incredible performance.
Power is transmitted to the wheels via a magnesium sequential gearbox actuated by paddle shifters for the ultimate hypercar feel. Also, as it was built to be a racing caris equipped with a hydraulic lifting system to lift off the ground when the tires need to be changed.

This unique CCGT is being sold by its original owner, Bård Eker, who is well known in the world of powerboat racing. According to the auction house, this impressive vehicle still has the original tires and It is “practically new”since it has lived in a heated garage with regular maintenance for all these years.
