The drag races of the late 1960s are among the pinnacle of motorsport history. At that time we not only had the famous Ford vs. Ferrari, but also the Germans began to be present with their magnificent Porsche 917.
One of the quintessential settings for endurance racing is the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, in Belgium. That is where this video that I want to show you today takes place, where on board a Lola T70 MKIIIB from that golden age of motorsports, we take a spin through incredible curves like Eau Rouge.

In command of the pilots David and Olivier Hartthis vehicle belongs to the DHG Racing team, which has to its credit several classics with which it competes in various historical competitions. In this case, the Lola made a big difference in the CER 1 class, intended for sports cars of the sixties and early seventies.
Mechanically, the Lola T70 MKIIIB is equipped with a Chevrolet 5.0-liter V8 engine naturally aspirated, capable of developing 450 Hp brought to the rear axle by a Hewland LG600 manual transmission. The reinforced fiberglass body and the riveted and glued aluminum monocoque chassis allow the car to be very light, with a total weight of only 800 kg. The performance is amazing even by today’s standards, which is why it’s quite a sight to see the Lola T70 go all out on the track.
