He Bahrain Grand Prix for Fernando Alonso Went from less to more. After a rough start in which he gave up two positions in favor of George Russell and lewis hamilton and after a touch of Lance Stroll that could have left him out of the race, the double world champion of Formula 1 sharpened his fang.
The great management of tires that he carried out, as well as the little degradation suffered by the Aston Martinallowed him to improve times as the turns passed and thus get closer to the head.
First, Alonso passed Russell; then he completed a historic overtake on Hamilton in turn 10, the most difficult of the layout, to start hunting down Carlos Sainz to fight for the podium after the abandonment of Charles Leclerc.
Well, it was that precise moment, in which Fernando stalked the man from Madrid and hit him with the ‘axe’, the one that has published the official account of the Formula 1.
In the video you can see the overtaking from two perspectives. On the one hand, from the classical ‘on board’ of Alonso; on the other, from rearview of Sainz.
The two-time world champion ‘cooked’ the pass over low heat, forced Carlos to change his line, bluffed him several times and finished off the action on a straight line. Sublime.
