Turkey Publishers Association organized a congress of Turkey’s ninth biennial Publishing 25-26 June 2020 in Covidien-19 took place online because of the pandemic. 9. - For the qualified development of broadcasting, sectoral infrastructure and publishing ethics should be strengthened. A fairer, more sharing, less carbon footprint publishing should be created.
- Freedom of thought and expression, which is the basis of broadcasting, is one of the fundamental rights protected by the constitution; censorship and self-censorship must be fought. The right of every individual to read in their mother tongue; The right to choose, access and obtain the book they want should be ensured with the principle of equality. Creative ways to read books should increase enthusiasm in all segments of society, especially in schools and libraries.
- To protect cultural producers and creative labor, copyrights must be respected. It should be ensured that the economic contraction caused by the pandemic crisis does not harm external employees such as translators, editors, illustrators, graphic artists; publishers should act in solidarity and transparency with their stakeholders with creative labor.
- The public’s lack of support for broadcasting in our country should be eliminated. The weakening of small-scale and independent broadcasting by large media companies, monopolization and holding, the shift of sales to online platforms to a large extent, the nature of these platforms work against small and independent vendors and producers; The possibility of delivering non-mainstream, independent voices to the reader should be avoided.
