The EU rapid alert system warns of a failure in the batteries of Citroën, Peugeot and DS models that can cause fires.
A security flaw that could affect the batteries of up to 70,000 vehicles in Spainand that it could even cause fires, has been reported by Safety Gate, the European Union’s rapid alert system for non-food products.
Affected models belong to the three French brands Citroën, Peugeot and DS which previously belonged to the PSA group and which are now integrated into the Stellantis structure.

According to the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU), which has echoed this alert, the problem in the batteries arises from the corrosion generated by possible infiltrationwhich could cause a potential fire risk in certain models of these three brands, which were manufactured between the year 2019 and the current year 2023.
The models affected by this alert are the Citroen C5 Aircross, manufactured between 01/20/2020 and 01/10/2023; he DS7 Crossback, produced between 02/19/2019 and 11/22/2022; he Peugeot 3008, manufactured between 03/12/2019 and 12/12/2022; and the Peugeot 508 that left the factory between 07/10/2019 and 01/25/2023.

The OCU maintains that it must be the respective manufacturers (Citroën, DS and Peugeot) who must contact the customers of the affected cars to fix the possible problem for free and as soon as possible.
