ANDForeseeably, after its presentation in Brazil a few months ago, Volkswagen Argentina also announced the arrival of the Taos Model Year 2023 specification, the C-SUV produced at the General Pacheco plant for the entire region. This is a slight equipment update, with the aim that this product continues to be a benchmark in its segment -especially in technology- and maintains the excellent level of acceptance it had since its launch.
The Taos MY2023 introduces the so-called touch package, consisting of the multifunction steering wheel with capacitive touch commands (exclusive for the Highline version), plus the new Climatronic Touch dual-zone automatic climate control, replacing the previous equipment, with physical controls. The new item has a digital display and touch commands, identical to the one already offered in the Nivus, Polo, Virtus and T-Cross. It is part of the standard list of all versions, both Comfortline and Highline, it also adds an additional USB-C input in the rear seats.
For its part, the Highline version received improvements in the driving assistance package: adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detector, now adds lane keeping system (Lane Assist) and parking assistant ( Park Assist). Optionally, this variant can also incorporate the two-tone package, exclusive for white units, which add a roof and rear-view mirrors in glossy black.
Where there are no modifications is in its aesthetics and its mechanics, maintaining the well-known 1.4 TSI gasoline engine that delivers 150 HP and 250 Nm of torque, coupled to the 6-speed Tiptronic automatic gearbox, always with front-wheel drive.
In this regard, Martín Massimino, Commercial Director of the Volkswagen Argentina Group, stated: “Taos is undoubtedly a product that came to revolutionize the SUV segment and with these updates we will offer a product, produced in Argentina, with benchmark equipment for the local and South American industry.”
