What’s happening?
Volkswagen, ZAG and Mediawan Kids & Family, the two co-producers, have signed an exclusive partnership for the upcoming animated family film “Miraculous: Ladybug & Cat Noir, The Movie” and released a trailer on YouTube
Volkswagen Marketing Director Nelly Kennedy said: “Electric mobility is amazing and exciting. This is a perfect match with the characters and the story: we are thrilled that the characters in the film experience their adventures with different 100% electric cars from our Volkswagen ID family.”

“Miracolous: Ladybug & Cat Noir – The Movie” will be screened in more than 100 markets worldwide, after “Miraculous” became a global family-friendly pop culture phenomenon in over 130 countries in recent years as a series. The global positioning is impressive with more than 33 billion views on YouTube and the number one television ranking in many countries. The next film will be screened on the Netflix platform, starting on July 28, 2023.

In this blockbuster, electric vehicles will be significantly integrated into the story. The ID family cars were redesigned to fit the aesthetics of the film, supported by the collaboration of designers, both in film animation and Volkswagen, as well as the respective marketing team around Gilbert Heise and Salim Yueksel. Two city cars with a futuristic look will be attributed to the main heroes: Cat Noir with an ID.4 and Ladybug, a modern character representing female empowerment, with an electric Beetle Concept Car. The luxurious ID. Vizzon is credited to successful hairstylist Gabriel Agreste, and the iconic Volkswagen ID. Buzz will be the delivery vehicle for Tom’s bakery.

The producers of the film comment
“From the beginning of the incredible adventure of the film, the collaboration with Volkswagen seemed like a natural fit for us. Our two brands have many values in common. Conveying the values of a better world is also our responsibility as producers,” said Aton Soumache and Emmanuel Jacomet, producers of the film. “With my creative team, I had a lot of fun adapting the iconic vehicles of the Volkswagen brand to the world of Miraculous and integrating them perfectly into the film and the Parisian settings. Ladybug and Cat Noir represent the new generation, and the vehicles in the film embody that modernity. For me, it is crucial to convey an essential message: taking care of our environment to live in a better world tomorrow,” adds Jérémy Zag, director of the film.
