The Volkswagen ID.Buzz is undoubtedly one of the most special electric vehicles on the market due to its design. Looking towards the end of this year or the beginning of 2024, the long wheelbase version begins, the Volkswagen ID.Buzz LWB. It’s not just a bigger electric minivan. It is that and many other novelties that it premieres.
The new model measures 4962mm length (almost like a Multivan), with a wheelbase that grows 250 mm. Thanks to this you can have a third row of seats (it’s a pity they can’t move on rails). You can choose a configuration of seven seats or six, (individual that can rotate to go in the opposite direction to the march). It advertises a huge cargo space, up to 2,469 liters (1,340 liters with five seats and 306 liters with seven seats in use). The new Volkswagen California is expected to take shape on this larger canvas.
- new electric motor: In addition to the versions currently on sale, it will be possible to choose with a new electric motor of 210 kW (286 hp). Its autonomy should improve, by announcing a higher capacity battery: (85 kWh) and a heat pump (becomes more efficient). Performance is also improved since its maximum speed becomes 160 km/h (in a 150 kW ID. Buzz it is limited to 145 km/h) and it will be able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
- GTX version: Already known in the ID.4 and ID.5 with whom it shares a platform, in this case it goes further in terms of power, since it reaches 250 kW (339 CV) and all-wheel drive. Exactly the same as the VZ version of the new Cupra Tavascan. Like this one, the Volkswagen ID. Buzz GTX4 will arrive in 2024 and announces a 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds.
- Connectivity improvements: Regarding the first members of the ID family, it gains a new information and entertainment system with a 12.9-inch screen and that integrates the climate control. You can also count on a new Head-Up Display. The brand announces that you can park remotely from a smartphone.
- Equipment news: Spectacular panoramic glass roof. It is huge and reaches 1.5 square meters, the largest that Volkswagen has ever built. It darkens if the sun shines directly on it but can be changed from transparent to opaque using the touch slider or voice assistant. The ID is also new. Buzz Box, a kind of central console that can be placed in different places in the car.
