In 2023 it is celebrating the 110th anniversary by Aston Martin. Gaydon’s firm is one of those with the longest tradition in the sector and, most importantly, is that in more than a century his philosophy has barely changed. They continue to make sports cars and a highly artisanal component, practically works of art on wheels. Especially those of limited edition as is the case of the recently launched aston martin value. It is the model that serves as a tribute to that milestone that is being met, an ode to front-engined sports cars. And not just any engine…
Because under that long hood hides the mechanics 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 that has brought so much joy to the brand in recent times and which could have little left on the market. In any case, in this example it comes with a power of 715 hp and 753 Nm of torque, which is probably not the most important thing. They do not give their benefits and it is clear that they go to a secondary place if we take into account that it is the first time that this engine has been linked with a Manual gearbox with six gears.
In this way you get a unique and analog experience, always added to a really successful chassis. The Valor has a mechanical limited-slip differential, plus electronic stability and traction control systems and three driving modes to adjust them (Sport, Sport+ and Track). The suspension has adaptive dampers and reinforcements at various points to achieve exquisite behaviour. There is no shortage of carbon-ceramic brakes with 410 mm discs in front and 360 mm behind to put a little sanity.
At the design level, it is clear that the Aston Martin Valor is inspired by the classics Of the brand. You see a lot of the robustness of the original V8 Vantage, although more of its sporty versions like the 90s V600 Vantage. There are also some lines of the fantastic One-77, although its role model has been the Aston Martin Victor. All the bodywork has been made of carbon fiberwith very marked details such as the shell-shaped hood, as well as a large grille and two NACA ducts to favor the cooling of the V12.
The vintage-inspired LED headlamps are round, while some 21-inch forged wheels They give that modern touch. Aerodynamics is ensured by elements such as the front splitter, the wings, the Kamm-type spoiler and the generous rear diffuser. At the rear there are also some LED pilots that are reminiscent of those of the Valkyrie, as well as an aluminum trim and the prominent triple outlet exhaust system.
In the two-seater interior of the Valour, we have opted for noble materials such as machined aluminum, titanium, carbon fiber or walnut wood for an exquisite touch on all surfaces. The upholstery is a traditional tweed wool inspired by Aston Martin DBR1, the most valuable car in the history of the brand. Personalization can be really high thanks to the Q by Aston Martin program. Only 110 units will be made of this issue (one for each completed year) and the first deliveries will arrive at the end of the year.
