There are many drivers who opt for the 50% discount for early payment, however there are some fines in which this possibility does not exist.
2023 is already here, with new desires and hopes, but with many uncertainties and fears. One of the main ones for motorists is undoubtedly get a traffic ticketwhether due to speeding, distractions, alcohol and drug use, or even parking.
As you well know, the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) includes in its notifications of sanctions the possibility of receiving a 50 percent discount if we take advantage of the “prompt payment” (if you pay the same within a certain period of time) and, with this, we waive the appeal of the fine.
Be careful not to respond to a requirement of the DGT

But this advantage is not common to all fines, since There are a number of violations that do not have a discount and that will have to be paid in full. Thus, one of the DGT fines that cannot be reduced despite the fact that we pay them promptly is the one that concerns driving with a detector or a radar inhibitor in the car.
As the regulations indicate, the sanction will be effective even though it is not working and just having it installed will result in a penaltywhich ranges from 500 to 3,000 euros, and which, as we say, cannot be lowered.
For the DGT, economic fines are not fair
Nor will you have a reduction in those infractions in which your car has caused damage to road infrastructure, either on the road itself or on traffic signals. In this case, it is also about high fines, which can reach up to 3,000 euros. Nor will you be able to deduct anything if you carry out works on the road without the corresponding authorization or without adequate signage.
Finally, and most common, is not responding to a notification requirement from the DGT driver, something that can suppose up to 1,500 euros of sanction and without option to rebate. Likewise, in those fines in which this identification process cannot be carried out, a 50 percent discount cannot be applied either.
