We remember the Ford Pro Electric SuperVan for presenting itself as a “tribute” to the popular Ford Transit, Of course, within the electrified side, of course. Interestingly, what happened next was the arrival of the commercial version of the e-Transit. This is nothing new, as we know that the competition is a giant “laboratory” in development issues for many brandsand now, in times of batteries and kWh, much more.
The case of the Ford Pro Electric SuperVan is curious, since it has never really been subjected to the pressure of a competition; we saw it prove itself in the “Green Hell” of the Nürburgring. He then traveled to the UK to appear at the Goddwood Festival 2022.where by the way, Jim Farley, CEO of Ford, took the opportunity to take a couple of turns.

It will be until the middle of the year, June, to be more exact, when the Ford Pro Electric SuperVan travels to America to compete in the legendary Pikes Peak International Hill Climb race, in Colorado, USA.
To this end Ford announced a slight change in the nomenclature of the electrified Van that it will be registered for the race as a Ford Performance SuperVan 4, hinting at the collaboration with R&D company STARD and its 50kWh battery.
To face the challenge posed by the mountain, Ford Performance has turned into the hands of well-known French driver Romain Dumas who, if he knows anything, is about breaking records in high-performance electric cars; Does Volkswagen ID R ring a bell? Model with which, in addition to “setting fire” to the Nürburgring, he also won the ascent of Pikes Peak, adding eight consecutive participations.

“Ford’s latest generation of electric vehicle technology is the perfect match for America’s Mountain. With the cutting power at high altitudes found in traditional ICE-powered vehicles, SuperVan 4’s electric powertrain has no loss in lift and will be a healthy contender in this year’s race.”
