once upon a car stuck to a drone

It is no longer surprising when we see a Flying car. A few years ago there was a boom with many projects of this type of vehicle, which are still far from reaching our cities, more for bureaucratic than technical reasons. Among all the types that we have seen, one of the most interesting proposals is the one that brings the XPeng AeroHT X3. It is a model of Chinese origin that follows the principles of a drone. In fact, it is a conventional car that can circulate on the road thanks to its wheels and that has a module with eight propellers on the roof.

It would be one of the most complete solutions among those that have been emerging for this mixed use that allows it to cross the roads and the skies. The main challenge is that your flight system has to be able to lift an electric car weighing 1,930 kg, a problem that other flying cars that were integrated did not have to face. Therefore, XPeng AeroHT has had to develop a vertical takeoff and landing system with a lot of power, which is also made error-proof.

In total they are eight electric motors to move the eight propellers of 3.5 meters in diameter that are divided into four arms. The firm ensures that even if one of the engines breaks down, the XPeng AeroHT X3 would be able to continue the flight without problems. In fact, it was done recently his first test, in which the flying car rose about ten meters into the air and performed some maneuvers without any unforeseen events. Apparently, all control can be done with the steering wheel and the gear lever, to give the user the most natural handling possible.

In any case, the brand has not given details at the technical level. The capacity of this XPeng AeroHT X3 is not known, nor the autonomy it will have in the air. If we have the X2 model as a reference, another one that is being developed by the company, we could expect about 35 minutes of flight at a maximum speed of 130 km/h. Although, it is true that this one is bigger and heavier. Be that as it may, it is hoped that this flying car can start market from 2024, when you have obtained the homologation. There is talk that it will be priced around 140,000 euros.
