A parking lot in Lugo wanted to charge a driver almost 78,000 euros for an error in the payment machine: finally, everything was left in a scare.
Parking is becoming expensive for the long-suffering motorist. If your city has parking meters, you will already be suffering from it, but nothing comparable to the price of private car parks, where the cost multipliescoming to give us the odd scare to the wallet.
However, nothing comparable to what happened a few days ago to a driver from Lugo in the private parking lot of the Lucus Augusti University Hospital (Hula), in Lugo. The motorist left her vehicle parked at the facility and after an hour she prepared to pick up the car.
The machine calculated that it was parked since 1970

What he did not expect is that the parking machine would order him to pay a figure as high as incredible. nothing else and nothing less than almost 78,000 euros (exactly, 77,956 euros). You can imagine the surprise that the woman got.
And what has been the cause of this price madness? Apparently a system failure caused the machine to interpret that the vehicle had remained in the ticket when the ticket was entered. parking for 19,488 days, 14 hours and 34 minuteswhich means more than 53 years.
Something that was materially impossible, because the parking device had started counting since January 1, 1970although the car park opened its doors 41 years later, in the same month of 2011.
What are the most expensive cities to park?
After claiming the erroneous invoice at the window, finally, the wrong was resolved and the frightened driver only had to pay 70 cents for that hour that your vehicle was kept in the parking lot.
And it is that the parking rates of the Lucus Augustis University Hospital, which have recently gone downare as follows: the first 15 minutes are free, the first hour is charged at 10 cents, from the second, the price is 0.70 cents per hour.
