The Nissan Mexicana CIVAC Plant, commemorates 57 years of uninterrupted operations. This manufacturing complex, located in the Ciudad Industrial del Valle de Cuernavaca, Morelos, was the first that the company built outside of Japan and, since then, it has positioned itself as an absolute benchmark in the global automotive industry.
Since its inauguration in 1966the CIVAC Plant has contributed significantly to the economic and social development of the country, as well as the local community. This, thanks to the fact that it has generated thousands of direct and indirect jobs and has provided professional development opportunities for the inhabitants of Morelos.
With a surface area of 412,000 m² and extensive production capacity, Nissan Mexicana’s CIVAC Plant is one of the largest and most modern in the region. Likewise, throughout its history, it has manufactured some of the brand’s most iconic models, such as the Nissan Sentra, Nissan Versa, Nissan March, Nissan Tsuru and even the Nissan NV200 Taxi for New York City. Currently, the CIVAC complex is responsible for the production Nissan Frontier and NP300.
The CIVAC Plant sustains the distinction as a vehicle production center “Made in Mexico”. Along with this recognition, the Nissan Mexicana CIVAC plant has also obtained other certifications. Among these, the ISO 9001 stands out, which guarantees high quality standards; ISO 14001, which certifies its environmental performance; and ISO 45001, which supports health and safety in the workplace.
In addition, as part of Nissan’s efforts to promote sustainability, The CIVAC plant has obtained the Clean Industry certification granted by PROFEPA.
