max verstappen He has loved many members of the Formula 1 paddock since his arrival at Toro Rosso in 2015 as a teenager. One of them is Bernie Ecclestoneformer leader of Formula 1, who did not hesitate to affirm that F1 should “be grateful” to the appearance of the Dutchman.
The 92-year-old businessman, in statements to ‘NextGen-Auto’, was very clear about what he thinks of the two-time world champion: “Formula 1 should thank Max Verstappen. He is a pure runner. He does what he has to do, which is drive. Fans have wanted someone like him for a long time.“.
In addition, Ecclestone highlighted how important it has become for Formula 1. So much so that they ‘forced’ to return to play a race in the Netherlands: “Holland is very proud of him and everyone supports him. It’s the only reason we came back to Zandvoort.”.
The support of the British is such that he wants him to surpass the record of world titles that they share Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton: “It will depend on your car, but if Red Bull continues like this, I don’t see why they would stop winning. Will Max break the record of seven world titles? Who knows, let’s hope so“.
