The path towards electrification by Alfa Romeo could not start in any other way than with an SUV, so that responsibility is assumed by Tonale PHEV 2024, a plug-in hybrid SUV to whose “green” proposal all the DNA of the Italian brand is added. Get to know some of its main details:
1.- The design shows a bit of the Alfa Romeo legacy, This is the case of the Scudetto front grill which, unlike the “normal” version, has a satin black frame, contrasting with the glossy finish grills.
2.- Ingeniously, the designers “borrowed” the snake from the Alfa Romeo logo and they adapted a plug that simulates the head. This nice graphic is located on the left rear window and is the main indicator that it is a Tonale PHEV.
3.- On that same side is the electric charging port. This has indicators and its handling is really simple; a portable charger is also included. Recall that Tonale PHEV uses a lithium-ion, nickel, magnesium, cobalt and graphite battery with 15.5 kWh capacity whose weight is 125 kilograms.
4.- To make its electric autonomy more efficient, Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV It has the e-Save function, which allows it to “save” energy in the battery and thus be able to use it in urban traffic sections with a 100% electric drive.
5.- During the time that Tonale PHEV is connected receiving charge, the digital cluster will show the charge percentage and the estimated autonomy. This plug-in hybrid SUV is capable of delivering an electric range of up to 80 kilometers in urban sections.
