When we talk about the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb we are looking at a truly legendary race.since it is one of the oldest automobile competitions still active in the United States that has been held since 1916 in the Rocky Mountains.
This race proposes a route of almost 20 km where you start at 2,865 meters above sea level and from there you ascend another 1,440 meters more. Cars and drivers face the challenge of a lack of oxygen that takes power from the engines and a winding and dangerous cornice road, but which he gave us scenes like Ari Vatanen’s Climb Dance and his Peugeot 406 T16.
And precisely speaking of French cars, let’s go to what concerns us: Alpine, Renault’s sports sub-brand, will be present in this competition for the first time in its history on Sunday, June 25, with a specially prepared Alpine A110 GT4 Evo of which we can see its first teaser today.

Alpine A110 GT4 Evo without the mods for the mountain climb.
As is often the case with vehicles modified for this specific competition, it is endowed with imposing aerodynamic elements and surely, a motor with a lot of power. As only a teaser was shown, there are not many more details about the vehicle, although it is known that Alpine will participate in the Time Attack 1 categoryfor single-wheel drive vehicles, so you will retain traction on the rear wheels.
To drive this vehicle, Alpine will count on the experience of the Frenchman Raphaël Astier, FIA R-GT Cup winner with the Alpine A110 Rally2 in 2022 and with experience in Pikes Peak, where he has already competed four times and even achieved a record in his category.

Raphaël Astier has already achieved victories with the Alpine A110 Rally.
