For the third time, Volkswagen takes the initiative to care for the planet and the climate globally.
What’s happening?
Volkswagen employees will carry out climate and environmental protection activities at many Volkswagen Group sites from April 11 to 22, 2023.
The “Project1Hour” campaign is on the occasion of International Earth Day. In 2022, some 300,000 employees were mobilized around the world and it is considered the largest corporate climate workshop in the world. This year’s campaign will be expanded to include another 500,000 employees at Volkswagen dealerships worldwide, adding to the 675,000 employees who are already a part of it. With that more than 1,000,000 people will be involved.
Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume, I comment on the above with “Project1Hour, we are setting an example on Earth Day and we are combining social and corporate objectives with an opportunity for each employee. Together, we form a force of 1 million minds for climate protection.”
The executive revealed some of the measures and achievements that are being made to care for the planet, which we summarize below.
- 52 billion euros will be invested in the future of individual and emission-free mobility
