Aston Martin DBX707 F1 Medical Car now has a fire extinguisher and defibrillator

A new Formula 1 season begins this weekend. The numerous novelties that the highest category presents for the new championship are not limited to the cars, drivers and teams, but also include changes in the assistance vehicles used.


In the run-up to the event held in Bahrain, Aston Martin unveiled the new Medical Car that will accompany the category during part of this 2023. It is worth remembering that the British automaker is, since 2021, one of the two (Mercedes-Benz, is the other brand) that provides F1 with units that officiate as Medical Car and of Safety Car.


Aston Martin DBX707 Medical Car: Key Features



The new model offered by Aston Martin is nothing less than the DBX707, one of the most powerful SUVs in the world. It takes the place of the DBX, which served as a Medical Auto since the incursion of the brand in the organization of competitions.


The DBX707 is the sports variant of the DBX, and it stands out for the power that its 4.0L biturbo engine, from Mercedes-AMG: 696 Hp. In addition to the developments made to the engine, the version has several new features in steering, traction, suspension and brakes, among other elements. The bodywork and the interior were also worked on, to give it a sporty look.


In order to fulfill your task of Medical Auto, this DBX707 was developed together with Aston Martin endurance driver, Darren Turner, and also with whom he will drive it in every F1 event, Alan van der Merwe. It received a few mechanical modifications (exhaust and suspension), while on the exterior it added a light bar on the roof. The interior is the one that received the most changes, incorporating, for example, the following:


  • Four career seats
  • Six-point seat belts
  • Two screens:
    In one, doctors see track activity
    In the other, the biometric data of the pilots in real time
  • two fire extinguishers
  • defibrillator
  • Bags for medical items


The DBX707 shares an engine with the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+the other medical car used by F1, and which was incorporated into the fleet of assistance vehicles at the beginning of 2022. Of course: it provides greater power, since the German sports car delivers 639 Hp.



The DBX707 is the same with which days ago Fernando Alonso, brand new driver of the Aston Martin F1 team for this season, was driving at full throttle on a test track. That’s not all, since the two-time world champion recently acquired a unit of the SUV.
