“I think that Aston Martin is not here to be fourth, fifth or sixth in the championship, it is here to win the world championship, and we are going to try to do it in 2023 or 2024,” said the Spaniard.
However, these words do not coincide with those of Tom McCulloughperformance director of the team, who last week spoke of the short-term objectives: “We want lead the middle group And then go from there.”
“To do that, we have to be aggressive. We try to be as aggressive we could this year, but with the budget limit and the available resources it has been difficult”, commented one of the most commanding in Aston Martin.
Alonso has reacted differently when asked about his goals. The veteran driver always aspires to win in Formula 1… even if the cars don’t allow it. Alpine is proof of her, in one of the best riding seasons of his entire life.
For Brazil, Alonso speaks of “finishing”, something that he has not achieved lately because of those damned mechanical problems: “Seeing the checkered flag, it hasn’t happened as many times as I would have liked, and if we finish here, in Brazil and in Abu Dhabi, we will finish in good shape.”

His first time at Aston Martin
Asked about his first contact with the green car, Alonso pointed out that it is “important” because many things change from one car to another: “The car will be very different next year, for everyone.
